What Merch by QR Does
- We create your branded merch (primarily T-shirts) designed to advertise your business.
- We set up your shirt page where customers can view and purchase your shirt.
- We handle sales, production, and shipping to the customer.
- We handle order-related customer issues (shipping/print/order problems) within reason.
What You Do
- Provide artwork (or tell us what you want) so we can build your shirt design.
- Place your QR code where customers can see it.
- That’s it.
This works best when the QR is visible. If the QR sits in a drawer, it won’t sell shirts. If it’s on the counter, wall, mirror, station sign, business cards, stickers, etc. people scan it and buy. More visibility = more scans = more shirts = more advertising for you.
How the QR + Shirt System Works
- We create a shirt design using your logo/art (or a design we build for you).
- We set up your shirt page where customers can buy.
- You display the QR code in your business (and anywhere else you want).
- Your customer scans the QR and buys the shirt online.
- We produce and ship the shirt directly to the customer.
- Your brand gets worn in public. That’s the advertising.
Default Shirt Offering
- Primary product: T-shirt
- Blank used: Gildan 5000 (default)
- Retail price to customer: $25 (default)
- Included print: Single front print (default)
We start with this default because it keeps pricing simple, keeps the offering consistent, and makes it easy for you to tell customers exactly what they’re getting.
Option A: Advertising Only (No Revenue Share)
Option A is for businesses that want hands-off advertising and do not want to deal with merch. You are not paying a monthly fee and you are not receiving profit share. Your benefit is the advertising and brand exposure without the headaches.
What you get
- Hands-off advertising through branded T-shirts
- No inventory in your shop
- No fulfillment or shipping on your end
- No order handling or customer payment handling
- Simple, consistent offering you can point customers to
What your customer pays
- Standard shop shirt: $25 (Gildan 5000, front print)
- Optional add-ons (if enabled): see “Optional Add-ons and Upgrades” below
Note: We focus on T-shirts first because they get worn and seen. Additional merch can be added after launch.
Option B: Profit-Sharing Advertising
Option B adds passive income on top of advertising. Merch by QR still handles setup, sales, production, and shipping. You pay a monthly advertising fee and receive a percentage of net profit per shirt sold.
How payments work (clear and simple)
- $29/month advertising fee (paid to Merch by QR)
- 30% of net profit per shirt (paid to you)
Tax and reporting facts (no advice)
- The monthly fee is typically treated as an advertising/marketing expense (confirm what applies to you with your tax professional).
- If your profit share exceeds $600 in a calendar year, a 1099 may be issued as required.
- To pay profit share, we may request a W-9 for our records (standard practice).
Optional Add-ons and Upgrades (placeholders)
The default is a $25 T-shirt with a single front print. Anything beyond that is optional. If you want upgrades, here’s what’s available and what we charge

- Back print add-on: +$X.XX added to retail price
- Sleeve/shoulder hit add-on: +$X.XX added to retail price
- Front + Back combo: +$X.XX added to retail price

Design services (when artwork is not print-ready)
If you provide print-ready artwork, setup is straightforward. If we need to fix, rebuild, or redesign artwork, that’s separate work and can be billed.
- Basic cleanup / prep for print: $XX
- Logo redraw / vector rebuild: $XXX
- Custom design from scratch: $XXX – $XXXX
- Extra revision rounds beyond standard: $XX per round
Artwork Requirements (print facts)
- Preferred file types: PNG (transparent background) or SVG (vector)
- Recommended resolution: 300 DPI
- Recommended size for strong print quality: 12” x 12” (or larger)
- If your file is low-res or blurry, it may require cleanup/redraw (billable service).
Artwork & Rights
By submitting artwork, logos, or text, you confirm that you own the rights or have permission to use it. Merch by QR is not responsible for copyright or trademark issues related to customer-provided content.
QR Placement Tips (so it actually works)
- Put the QR where customers sit and stare (stations, mirrors, counter signs).
- Use a bold sign, not a tiny sticker nobody can read.
- Business cards and stickers help, but in-shop placement is the best.
- If you want sales, treat the QR like your advertising. Put it out there.
Getting Started
- Choose Option A or Option B.
- Fill out the intake form.
- We contact you to confirm artwork, shirt page details, and the final design.
- Your shirt goes live. You place the QR code. Customers scan and buy.
